Broccoli Stem Fries-serves 2
-A tasty and low-waste recipe for utilizing your organic broccoli stems!
Ingredients:
- 3 broccoli stems, peeled
- ½ cup all-purpose flour
- ½ cup unsweetened oat milk
- ¾ cup seasoned panko *we used Edward & Sons Italian Panko
- ½ tsp salt
- ½ tsp garlic pepper
Instructions:
- Preheat oven to 400F and line a baking sheet with parchment paper. Peel the broccoli stems to completely remove the tough outer edge. Cut into “french fry” shaped strips.
- Mix the flour with the oat milk in one bowl, and put the panko crumbs in a second bowl.
- Take one broccoli stem at a time, coat with the flour and milk mixture, and then dip in the breadcrumbs. Place on the lined baking sheet, and repeat with all of the broccoli.
- Bake until the stem fries are crispy, approximately 15 to 20 minutes. Season with salt and garlic pepper to taste and serve with a dipping sauce of your choice! *we served with the Café’s Spicy Southwest Sauce. YUM!
